Meet John R. Pastor
John, his wife Linda and children Ryan and
Rachel make their home in Livonia, Mi.
John has been a very active resident of Livonia
for many years. He began his political
career on the Livonia City Council when he was
elected to a two-year term
from January 1, 1998 to December 31, 1999.
He was
re-elected to a two-year term from January 1,
2000 to December 31, 2001.
He was
appointed in March of 2009 to fill an unexpired
term ending December 31, 2009.
Most recently, he was
elected to a two-year term from January 1, 2010
to December 31, 2011.
He is a graduate of Ferris State University
and is the President of G.H. Pastor and Sons, a
Livonia-based construction business. As a
business owner, he understands the needs of
small businesses in today's economy. The
construction industry has been hit hard by the
recession, especially in Southeast Michigan.
Jobs and economic stability are among John's top
priorities in Lansing.
John has a wealth of political
experience. He has served on the Livonia
City Council, and
served as State Representative of Livonia in the
19th District for three (3)
consecutive two-year terms, having been first
elected in November of 2002 and
serving until he reached his term limit in 2008.
John feels the Senate seat is a natural
progression from the State Representative seat
he held for so many years. He's familiar
with the political processes at the local and
state levels. He's experienced and he's
ready to go back to Lansing to work hard for
you.
